From volunteer to employee
Midwest Food Bank Bloomington-Normal is happy to announce the hiring of Jeni Hanson as Warehouse Manager. Jeni's first day in her new position was January 23. But it certainly wasn't her first day at MFB.
Already a valued volunteer, Jeni is well-known to the regulars here. She was very sensitive to the mission of MFB from the start. She soon became a familiar and welcome sight, even using her vacation time to volunteer during distribution week. Soon becoming a lead volunteer, Jeni excelled in guiding groups of young people or groups with special needs.
"MFB is a wonderful ministry and I'm all about following God's direction to serve others," says Jeni. "And the people here have made this transition seamless."
Prior to coming to MFB, Jeni served as an operations and logistics specialist for numerous retail stores. The experience she gained there translates well into the duties of Warehouse Manager.
When she's not at MFB, Jeni like to spend time with her two sons. She enjoys running, hiking, camping, and biking - keeping active outdoors.
"Jeni has a proven track record of working well with other volunteers and agencies," says Chad Bevers, Executive Director of MFB Bloomington-Normal. "Add her experience to that and you have a very good fit for this job."
We welcome Jeni to the MFB employee team. We're fortunate to have her.
