Hope Packs: Fighting childhood hunger

Childhood should be a time of joy and exploration, but for millions of children, poverty casts a shadow over their lives. One of the most pressing challenges they face is hunger. Today, 1 in 6 children in the United States lives in a food-insecure household, which means approximately 18 million children are struggling with hunger. This hunger affects them academically, emotionally, and physically.

At Midwest Food Bank, we believe "Child" and "Hunger" should never go together. Our Hope Packs program provides at-risk children with supplemental weekend food, helping them get through weekends when they might not have enough to eat.

Thank you to the many caring people who donated to our "Back to School" campaign. Over $98,000 was raised to support school children in our communities. That money will provide over 1,440 children with Hope Packs for this entire school year!

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors. Arby's, CEFCU, Precision Planting, PNC, and UPMC supported the Back to School campaign financially.

It's not too late! If you missed the campaign, Hope Packs helps students through the school year. For just a $68 donation, Midwest Food Bank can provide a student with food to take home every weekend for an entire school year. Click here to get started.

Thank you for joining us in the fight against child hunger. Your support will make a significant difference in the lives of these vulnerable children. Together, we can provide children with hope for a brighter future.
