MFB Arizona responding to Kentucky tornadoes with help from SVCC

Time and money - that is what Sun Valley Church shares with Midwest Food Bank Arizona. The church has six locations in the metro-Phoenix area and often schedules times for staff and the congregation to volunteer at the MFB warehouse. The church has also supported MFB financially in the past, specifically the California wildfires in 2017-18.

When the tornadoes hit Kentucky late last year they stepped up again. They gave $50,000 to MFB to help with Kentucky tornado relief.

"They knew they wanted to do something and they knew they could trust MFB to best meet the victims' needs," says Merilee Baptiste, Executive Director of MFB Arizona.

Sun Valley also receives food from MFB for special outreach events and for food distributions they host. The generosity of time and money by volunteers and donors like Sun Valley Church makes it possible for MFB Arizona to quickly respond to disasters and meet needs locally.
