MFB Florida welcomes Administrative Assistant

Midwest Food Bank Florida is pleased to welcome our new Administrative Assistant, Tanya Phillips. She will be managing the agency roster and communication, volunteer communication and on-boarding, and supporting the bookkeeper and other key volunteers.

Tanya grew up in northwest Illinois and southwest Wisconsin. Prior to entering the non-profit arena, she grew up working in a chain of convenience stores owned by her grandparents. Tanya has 13 years of food bank experience, having previously worked at Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin and Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida.

"I'm excited to be a part of Midwest Food Bank," says Tanya. "There are so many people working together with different personalities, cultures, and beliefs. God shows us, when we all work together, how so many different people can be blessed."

Tanya, her significant other, Bill, and four children, Xavier, Alex, Tristan and Taya, moved to Cape Coral in 2011, to be closer to her retired parents. In her spare time, Tanya enjoys spending time with her family, crocheting, and playing with her fur-babies. The entire family gets together weekly for a meal and to play cards. She taught herself and her mother to crochet by watching YouTube videos.

"Tanya's knowledge of the industry is a big help to our daily operations in Florida," says Karl Steidinger, Executive Director of MFB Florida. "We're blessed to have her on our team."
