MFB Florida welcomes Kelly Apfel

There's a friendly new face at MFB Florida. Kelly Apfel has joined our staff as Community Relations Coordinator beginning Monday, September 21.

In her new role, Kelly will be coordinating and developing donor relations, and community partnerships for MFB Florida. This role involves pursuing grants, working with volunteers, securing funding, and advocacy throughout the community.

Originally from Scotland, Kelly moved to New York 14 years ago. Her family just relocated down to Florida for new jobs and to be closer to family.

Kelly has a Masters Degree in Marketing and taught Public Relations and Communications for several years in New York. She also has a degree in Hospitality Management from Scotland.

"It is clear that MFB volunteers and employees are dedicated to making a positive impact in their community," says Kelly. "I'm excited to join a team with such purpose."

Kelly describes herself as a keen traveler, and adventurer. She is blessed to have family and friends to visit all over the world.

"Kelly brings significant experience in the non-profit world," says Karl Steidinger, Executive Director of Midwest Food Bank Florida. "We're blessed to have her bring her skills to MFB."

"I am very excited to be involved in food and disaster relief," says Kelly. "It's an industry I have been drawn to for years."

Please join us in welcoming Kelly to the MFB Florida team.
