Midwest Food Bank Assists in Haiti Relief
Sisters Mission Outreach in Springfield has asked Midwest Food Bank to help with disaster relief efforts in Haiti. On January 15 first aid supplies, vitamins, water, and food supplies were transported to Coconut Creek, Florida. The items were then shipped to Haiti on a U.S. Naval vessel. That week a second truckload from Midwest Food Bank transported additional supplies and food as designated by relief personnel, and provisions were supplied to twelve doctors from the Peoria area who went to Haiti.
Midwest Food Bank is accepting financial donations to assist in the relief effort. You can help by:
1. Check – made out to "Midwest Food Bank" with "Haiti" in the memo area. Mail to Midwest Food Bank, 1703 S. Veterans Parkway, Bloomington, IL 61761.
2. Credit Card – we accept Visa and Master Card or American Express. Please call 309 663-5350 (Bloomington), 309 691-5270 (Peoria) or 317 786-8980 (Indianapolis) with your credit card information and indicate that your donation is for Haiti Relief efforts.
