Midwest Food Bank's Disaster Relief Efforts in Texas, Georgia, and Florida

Volunteers pack clean-up kits at Midwest Food Bank Morton.

Between July and early September, Midwest Food Bank's Disaster Relief efforts brought aid to disaster-stricken communities in Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

The deliveries included:

  • 7,240 food boxes across seven truckloads
  • Five loads of water and sports drinks
  • 4,032 cleaning kits in four truckloads to assist with post-disaster cleanup

Volunteers were crucial to this response, handling the loading and transportation of the relief.

Where and How We Helped:

  • Texas: Received ten truckloads of relief to address severe flooding.
  • Georgia: Four semi-loads went to help communities affected by flash floods.
  • Florida: Two shipments provided water and cleaning kits after a tropical storm.

As of this writing, Hurricane Helene has just made landfall in Florida.  Midwest Food Bank locations in Morton, IL, Georgia, and Florida are mobilizing their Disaster Relief efforts.

You can be a part of this mission. Volunteer or donate today to help Midwest Food Bank continue delivering help in times of crisis.
