Prayer breakfast at MFB Pennsylvania
Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with you," Matthew 18: 19-20.
On May 5, the staff and board of Midwest Food Bank Pennsylvania came together with about 30 people from their nonprofit food partners for a time of prayer. Several others joined remotely through video.
"Lifting one another and our work to God was so meaningful," says Kathy Anderson-Martin, Executive Director of MFB Pennsylvania. "It was a great reminder of why we're here and who we serve."
With food shortages in the news and increasing demand for food from food partners, this seemed like the perfect time to practice the power of prayer. One food partner commented, "It gets hard, and you feel like you are alone. It was great to come together, fellowship, and pray with others."
"We want to encourage and refresh our partners as they are the boots on the ground in this war on hunger," says Aleta Serrano, MFB Pennsylvania board president.
The staff and board of MFB Pennsylvania plan to have prayer events throughout the year. It was powerful to hear the prayers as the group was in small groups, simultaneously praying.
"It was amazing to listen to several voices speaking at once, with the same requests and thanks to God," says Kathy.
