Tornado Survivor
Tonight my wife and I had one of your dinners. It was a prepackaged chicken and rice hot meal and it was very good. I couldn't tell you how I got it but it was given to me after the tornado in Joplin, in May 2011.
The tornado changed my life completely, and God has been good and faithful in all of it. The tornado destroyed my house and I lost a wife and 13 month old son. There were thousands of volunteers in Joplin, helping with debris clean up and providing food and shelter and medicalcare.
I wanted to thank you for providing the food that eventually made it's way to me. I have had many of your hot meals and they are good. Please tell all your crew and volunteers that their hard work and donations of time and food and money do make a difference.
I am grateful for your kindness. Don't give up in doing well and helping others. God see your work and will bless it.
As a result of everything that has happened, I met a wonderful Christian lady at my church and we were married last March. She is a wonderful help-meet to me. My life is not all rainbows and sunshine. But God is with us and takes of us in everything. Everything that happens works out for good for those who believe in Christ. Please tell all your volunteers a big thank you from Joplin."
Love in Christ,
David and Linda
