Kapu Africa welcomes a new board member

In her professional career, Anne Ambwere chose the ethical path. It's a walk that helped her as the leader of Jamii SACCO in East Africa. SACCO stands for Savings and Credit Cooperative Society, and it is a membership-based financial institution. Under her 20-year leadership, Jamii SACCO has become highly profitable while still maintaining core values.

These values are a perfect fit for Kapu Africa (Midwest Food Bank East Africa). Anne has joined the Board of Directors and will soon retire from Jamii SACCO, allowing her to give more to Kapu Africa.

"Anne leads with humility and is a valuable member of our team," says Christine Mutsoli, Executive Director of Kapu Africa.

Anne has experience reaching out to her fellow citizens. She has traveled to various places in the country, delivering food to hungry children.

"You should see the big smile on the faces of these children, as if to say, 'without your visit, we probably would have slept hungry,'" says Anne.

As Kapu Africa continues to grow and reach out to hungry people, Anne will be a valuable part of the team.

"Let's keep it up as we fulfill the Lord's command - I was hungry and you fed me," says Anne.
