New Board Member Aaron Klopfenstein Combines Financial Expertise and a Heart for Ministry
Midwest Food Bank is excited to welcome Aaron Klopfenstein as the newest addition to our National Board of Directors. With a deep connection to our mission of sharing the love of Christ and a professional background that combines financial acumen and branding expertise, Aaron is uniquely poised to help lead Midwest Food Bank in its next chapter of growth.
Born and raised in Central Illinois, Aaron is no stranger to the values of community and service. "My parents volunteered with Midwest Food Bank Peoria for many years, and I've personally been involved with the Indianapolis location through volunteering and bringing my company team for workdays," he shares. This longstanding connection to Midwest Food Bank's work inspired Aaron to step into this new leadership role.
Aaron is Managing Director at Blue Trust, a national wealth advisory firm that integrates financial planning with Biblical principles. With over 25 years of experience in finance, he brings a fresh perspective on stewardship and strategic growth—skills that align perfectly with Midwest Food Bank's vision of excellence.
Eric Hodel, Midwest Food Bank's CEO, recognizes Aaron's unique qualifications: "Aaron's Kingdom focus, coupled with his financial expertise and branding experience, makes him an incredible addition to our board. We are blessed to have him join us as we continue to grow and serve communities in need."
As of 2025, Midwest Food Bank's Board of Directors grows to 12 members. This expansion reflects the organization's continued impact on food and disaster relief efforts across the nation. Aaron joins an inspiring group of leaders, including Founder and President of the Board, David Keiser, Vice President Bill Leman, Secretary Ann Kafer, David Hodel, Kellie Bray, Jim Gapinski, Matt Kees, Brandon Lipps, Arthur Neal, Trent Scholl, and Eric Sheldahl.
Aaron and his wife, Kara, have called Indiana home for over 25 years, raising three sons: Caleb, a senior at Purdue University; Carter, a sophomore at the University of Tennessee; and Cooper, a high school sophomore. Aaron enjoys music, sports, reading, and traveling with his family.
When asked about his motivation for joining the board, Aaron emphasizes his alignment with MFB's mission: "I am honored to serve a ministry whose vision is excellence and mission is sharing the love of Christ. I look forward to prayerfully considering what God has in store for Midwest Food Bank in the years ahead."
