Midwest Food Bank's very own Carol Jankowski was recently given some well-deserved recognition. The Morton Community Chamber of Commerce honored Carol as the 2019 Distinguished Service Award Winner. Carol, Executive Director of MFB Morton, received the award for her years of leadership and service to Morton. She has served countless hours in numerous organizations including: The Morton Community Foundation, Morton Rotary, Morton Public Library, Morton Fine Arts Association, We Care Foundation, Grace Church. Reflecting on the award, Carol noted that each leadership experience built upon prior service experiences. It was as if every leadership experience was preparing her for the next role and opportunity to serve.
Carol learned she was the winner as she was presented the award. Her husband, son and mother surprised her and joined her on stage at the event. "We are blessed to have Carol in a leadership position at MFB and this award clearly confirms the appreciation of the Morton community for her many years of giving back," says Eric Hodel, Midwest Food Bank COO/CFO.
