About Midwest Food Bank New England

In December 2020, Midwest Food Bank announced the opening of a 12th location, New England (full story here). A team of organizers worked on finding a suitable location and getting the division up and running.  The New England area will be served from this division. 

A 55,000 sq.ft. warehouse facility was leased in Manchester, CT. The first phase of renovations is expected to begin in August initial food distribution is to begin in October. Phase 2 of our renovations including offices, conference room, kitchen, and volunteer/community space will begin when additional funds are raised.

Two staff members have been hired, Jan Young, Executive Director, and Brent Carl, Operations Manager. A core team of volunteers including a bookkeeper and social media coordinator have been identified.  Additional volunteer opportunities will be announced on our Facebook group (sign up here) and in our bi-monthly email newsletter (sign up here).

Any non-profit in CT and beyond is able to pre-register to drive to our location and pick up food on a scheduled basis.  We are actively adding interested agencies to our waiting list. This is an exciting time and we will be updating this page as new developments happen.
