Midwest Food Bank donors are not only generous but creative. They come up with various ways to raise money and awareness for MFB.
Tony Escobar, a representative of Thrivent, has a history of supporting organizations that provide food to people in need, and he looks for ways to get that done. He recently hosted a French cooking night at the Cookery in Morton, Illinois, and invited people from his business network to attend. Their admission to the event was a donation to MFB Morton.
"I chose Midwest Food Bank because I have a prior background working in community relations with food insecurity," says Tony. "I started a food pantry and operated a co-op delivery service to other food pantries on the west side of Chicago."
Now that he is in Morton, he wants to continue similar efforts. At Thrivent, he frequently has the resources to host fundraising events like this one.
"We are so grateful for community supporters who connect their network to the mission of Midwest Food Bank," says Lisa Martin, Executive Director, MFB Morton. "Tony's fundraiser is a great example of a fun and engaging business networking event while supporting a cause."
Thrivent is a financial services organization that supports its employees and clients who want to live generously.
