"And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward." Matthew 10:42
Midwest Food Bank had an opportunity to give a "cup of cold water" to neighbors in our own community. Late on March 9, a water main broke in Normal, prompting a 48-hour town-wide boil order.
"As a Salvation Army First Responder, MFB has sent Disaster Relief to many locations throughout the United States, reports Director of Operations Mike Hoffman. "Now we had an opportunity to show, in a small way, what we can offer."
One case of water was offered per household to Normal residents. Over 400 cases of water were given away. It was a blessing to be able to help those in need right here at home.
