Helping the drought-stricken

Kenya and the surrounding region is experiencing hunger brought on by prolonged drought. More than 2.5 million people are facing crisis levels of food insecurity. People are reducing the amount of food they eat, with many families eating only one meal per day.
Midwest Food bank East Africa has been blessed to have the support of Ridgeways Baptist Church, Nairobi, Kenya, our largest partner in drought relief effort in 2017. With their help, more than 275 tons of Tender Mercies® has been distributed in costal Kenya. The church has agreed to continue working with us in 2018.
The partnership has Midwest Food Bank providing Tender Mercies® and Ridgeways provides logistics. They send a team with each shipment to ensure it is given away through church services. Though very costly, over 2.5 million meals were given away, resulting in more than 2,600 Kenyans giving their lives to Christ. Praise the Lord for His work in their lives!

In 2018, Midwest Food Bank plans to begin shipping meals into the refugee camps of civil war-ravaged South Sudan. Your donation can help spread the Word and food to these impoverished areas. To make a donation, click here.
