These smiling faces are the third graduating class from Rural Evangelistic Mission (REM) school. GOYA and REM have partnered with Kapu Africa since MFB's work started there. All three organizations are Christ-centered in their work.
Kapu Africa - Share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition.
GOYA - Radically change the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, with the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
REM - Pastor Shadrack Ogembo provides education to children and adults living in slums.
By coming together with food, education, and hope, 48 graduates from REM are going on to university-level education.
"The trajectory of these children growing up in the slums of Nairobi changes once they start going to REM school," says Chad. "It cannot be stated enough how difficult it is for a child to concentrate in school when they are hungry."
Through REM, children from slums receive a quality education and learn computer skills that many young individuals in Kenya lack.
"It is a blessing seeing these young individuals grow up and bloom where they are planted," says Christine Mutsoli, Executive Director of Kapu Africa.
