"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase." -I Corinthians 3:6
Kapu Africa (Midwest Food Bank East Africa) was recently blessed to participate in an event with Shalom Outreach and Spread Truth Ministries. It was held near Mtwapa, a town on the northern coastal area of Kenya. Populated mostly by Muslims, there is a high rate of HIV/AIDS in this area.
On Wednesday, August 21, the mission teams held a meeting and set up for the event. For the following three days, each organization ministered to the locals. People began by seeing doctors and going through the pharmacy.
In a separate room, 10 tonnes of Tender Mercies was ready for distribution. Twenty people were allowed into the room at a time. The Shalom Evangelical and Spread Truth teams prayed and preached the Word of God to the people. After that, Kapu Africa employee Godwin Matswa explained the contents of Tender Mercies and how to prepare the meal. Ten packets of Tender Mercies were given to each person.
In all, over 2,500 people were given help. The best news: twelve people were baptized. Godwin was asked to share this with our donors: "Mungu awazidishie" (May God increase what you gave).
