Three people volunteer at Midwest Food Bank Peoria with reliability and consistency to make sure the bookkeeping responsibilities are completed.
We want to introduce you to Tom, Lynn, and Claire. They each have a different path that brought them to MFB, but they share the servant spirit. As you will see, they also share a love of travel.
Tom Rieker - Tom first volunteered at MFB Bloomington in 2005 and has become a regular volunteer in many ways in Peoria. He says his life highlights include being a child of God, his wife, and family, and volunteering at MFB. Aside from volunteering, Tom's interests include traveling. His favorite vacation was Hawaii, and he hopes to travel in the South Pacific someday. Tom's steady demeanor is such an asset to MFB Peoria.
Lynn Johnson - Lynn first started volunteering at MFB Peoria about seven years ago. She organized groups from her church to serve at MFB. For about the last year, she has volunteered with bookkeeping responsibilities, and she says this allows her to continue to volunteer and care for her elderly parents. Lynn enjoys the outdoors and her dogs (a golden retriever and a Yorkie). She just returned from a vacation to Florida and is planning a third trip to Israel.
Claire Hooper - Claire has been volunteering at MFB Peoria for about three years. She says she likes the opportunities herself and the volunteer jobs that her grandson can do. Family is very important to Claire, and when she is not at MFB, she likes to visit her mother and spend time with her grandchildren. Claire has a Canadian heritage and hopes to see all 50 states.
"Tom, Lynn, and Claire are a pleasure to work with at MFB Peoria," says Dana Williamsen, Accounting Director for Midwest Food Bank. "It is easy to see they love sharing their talents for the MFB mission."
