Amy found her way to Midwest Food Bank Arizona, and for the past couple of years, she has been volunteering as a bookkeeper. She has the lead role in accounts payable but is also trained in accounts receivable.
"Her willingness to learn new tasks to broaden her bookkeeping skill set, and to ask questions along the way, has allowed us to improve our processes and procedures," says Merilee Baptiste, Executive Director of MFB Arizona.
Amy brings her family to MFB a couple of times a year to volunteer and learn about serving others. "I love being a part of something that can help so many other people," she says.
Even though Amy is a busy Mom, helping with her kids' activities and at their school, she says volunteering is a priority. Besides her family and volunteering, Amy says world travel is another one of life's highlights. Her best vacation happened in July with a Mediterranean cruise, and one of her best travel memories is seeing panda bears in China.
That zest for life is a positive influence for MFB. "She is such a fun person and always has a funny story about her kids to share with the staff," says Merilee.
