Student volunteer finds community at MFB Florida

What started as a requirement ended up being an experience for Florida Gulf Coast University student Elise.

She initially volunteered at Midwest Food Bank Florida for the Winter Harvest fundraising event as a service hour requirement for her degree. She has completed that requirement but also experienced the accomplishment of assisting others and connecting with other volunteers.

"It was refreshing to share earnest, good-natured faith with my fellow volunteers and organizational members," says Elise. "That's something I don't get to do often outside of Sunday mass."

She also said she appreciated the flexibility in scheduling volunteer hours around her hectic college schedule.

"I plan on continuing with MFB whenever I can, and I would strongly encourage anyone interested to do the same," says Elise.

Thanks to Elise for choosing MFB as a place to share her time and talents. Looking for a positive volunteer experience? Click here to get started.
