New MFB Georgia employee brings a wealth of experience

A conversation in the grocery store turned into Tricia Jacoby joining the Midwest Food Bank Georgia staff. She ran into MFB employee Lina Martin in the store and shared her desire to give back to her community as she entered the empty nest years. Tricia joined the staff in late March as a part-time volunteer coordinator.

"We are thrilled to have someone of Tricia's caliber joining our team," says Pat Burke, MFB Georgia Executive Director. "She has over ten years of volunteer experience."

Her volunteer experience includes roles with Boy Scouts, fine arts and athletic programs, and PTO. After being introduced to MFB by a friend, Tricia and her family started volunteering at various food processing projects in 2015.

"It was evident from the beginning that MFB is a community with a heart to serve," says Tricia. "I'm inspired by the people who faithfully and generously give to MFB, each other, and ultimately to those in need."

Tricia and her husband have two college-age children. She worked in the IT industry as a software engineer for ten years before staying home to raise a family. Most recently, she was a fitness instructor in Peachtree City.

She likes to spend time with her family playing board games and cards in her spare time. She also likes to stay active playing tennis and pickleball.
