MFB Haiti is sharing the love of Christ in troubled times

Midwest Food Bank Haiti continues to fight food insecurity in difficult times. Corruption, violence, natural disasters, poverty, and lack of leadership plague Haiti. Your support of MFB Haiti is vital, allowing us to provide food to food-insecure Haitians.

MFB Haiti has committed to sending packets of seasoning to Overture International in Haiti to make Tender Mercies. We hope to make 500,000 individual meals during 2023. We are buying rice and beans from local Haitian farmers and packaging them with our seasoning and mix to create meals. This provides jobs for locals who package the meals and supports the economy by helping local farmers.

We were recently made aware of a crisis in a center in Haiti that cares for at-risk HIV-positive children. Moving the children to a safer location became critical. Security teams partnered with an organization in Haiti for a safe transfer. MFB Haiti has committed to feeding these children for six months until foster families can be found. It is a blessing to be a part of this effort to help the children.

Prisoners in Haiti are not being fed adequately. Many prison residents are there without the benefit of a trial and potentially on false accusations. One of MFB Haiti's partner organizations recently distributed food in a Port Au Prince prison. We supplied peanut butter and were asked to continue to support them,
