MORTON
Faculty Team-Builds through Service
We were blessed to have the Metamora Grade School faculty volunteer at our warehouse. After their holiday break, the teachers and staff came together for a team-building day before the students returned to school. Filled with enthusiasm, staff members took shifts throughout the day to serve their community side by side.
The administrative team at Metamora Grade School chose Midwest Food Bank Morton for its local location, spacious environment, and the desire to serve as a united team within their community. They recognized that part of team building involves connecting and having fun while serving others, and Midwest Food Bank provided the perfect platform for this.
During their volunteer day, the staff members repackaged hundred-pound boxes of pasta into family-sized bags, discovering the variety of pasta types and the satisfaction of working together. They were amazed by Midwest Food Bank's numerous corporate partnerships and the nutritional value packed into each small bag of Tender Mercies meals. Beyond their local impact, they were deeply impressed by how Midwest Food Bank's efforts extended to meet both national and international needs.
"It is always a joy to see teams working together and the camaraderie that they share as they serve together," says Lisa Martin, Executive Director of MFB Morton. "There are always many smiles and much laughter as the groups work and leave our facility."
We are thankful Midwest Food Bank can provide these opportunities. Metamora Grade School faculty showcased the power of teamwork and service in their local community.
