"I wanted to do my small part to help the great work done at the food bank," says Tony.
Tony's journey with the Morton Food Bank began with load-out duties and later evolved into maintaining the property. He integrated his volunteering into his lawn care business schedule, making it a part of his routine.
"One of my favorite parts of working at the food bank is seeing each individual bring their skill, time, and talent, working together for a greater cause," says Lisa Martin, MFB Morton Executive Director. "Tony is a joy to have as part of the MFB family. Tony tends to the lawn with a cheerful heart regardless of the weather."
Tony isn't just a generous volunteer; he's also a devoted family man. He's happily married to his best friend, Rhonda, for 37 years. Together, they have four daughters and eight grandchildren who bring them great joy—a true blessing from the Lord. When Tony isn't busy tending to lawns or spending time with his family, you'll find him indulging in his hobbies - gardening, camping, and hiking are his passions.
Tony's story reminds us that acts of kindness make a big difference, and it's heartwarming to see people like him making the world a better place, one mowed lawn at a time.
