Midwest Food Bank Texas hosted a Partners Gathering on Friday, October 18 and Saturday, October 19. The goal of the event was three-fold.
Guests included corporate employee partners, non-profit agencies and MFB Board members. During the program, Rich Stoller, Texas Board President, shared the heart of how the division was started. Daniel Prescott from Services of Hope shared how the work of Midwest Food Bank having a positive impact on youth and families in the DFW metroplex. Don Dykes of Under His Wings told of the food deserts in rural areas east of the DFW Metroplex and how Midwest Food Bank is standing in the gap for those in need.
The audience were invited to support the food bank financially. Further, the need for volunteers was also highlighted. Over 100 guests left the weekend with an increased awareness of Midwest Food Bank and an idea of how they could contribute their time, treasures and talents to advance the mission.
