Midwest Food Bank has hired Audrey Kamm as Executive Director of our Peoria, IL, location. She will assume the role on February 1. Audrey is replacing long-time Director Monica Scheuer, who is retiring at the end of this month.
Audrey most recently served as the Vice President of Operations for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce. There, she managed the $1M annual budget, oversaw member events, and led a team of employees to manage all operations. She has an extensive network across the Peoria area and a passion for the well-being of the community.
"Audrey brings a strong mission alignment, leadership skills, and community insights to MFB," says Eric Hodel, CEO of Midwest Food Bank. "She has a passion for the well-being of the community."
As Executive Director, Audrey will be responsible for ensuring MFB programs are executed with efficient use of facilities, employees, and volunteers. She will also manage budgeting, fundraising, community engagement, and other requirements for not-for-profit operations.
"Midwest Food Bank does such inspirational work, alleviating hunger locally, nationally, and beyond," says Audrey. "It is an honor to step into this role and join the team doing incredible work in the community I love."
Before her role at the chamber, Audrey has had varied experiences that span from real estate management to figure skating coach to ministry. She stays involved in the sport she loves by serving as a U.S Figure Skating technical specialist, judge, and international team leader for synchronized skating.
Audrey and her husband live in Metamora with their two active boys, Logan and Lincoln. They spend many nights and weekends watching the boys participate in soccer, baseball, basketball, and football.
While we gladly welcome Audrey, we bid farewell to Monica Scheuer. She has been at MFB Peoria for over eight years, four of them in the Executive Director role.
"I have made friends for life at MFB," says Monica. "I look forward to continuing my service as a volunteer."
Under Monica's leadership, MFB Peoria increased the number of food distributions. She built strategic community partnerships and collaborations across the state. Monica oversaw a $1M renovation, including an expansion of warehouse space and installation of a drive-through, and an office remodel.
"On behalf of the entire organization and the agencies served by MFB Peoria, I sincerely thank Monica for her dedication and leadership," says Eric. "God placed her in the right place at the right time as the Peoria Division has grown steadily over the last five years. She has done a remarkable job highlighting the nutritional value of the food distributed."
"My family and I have been forever changed by serving at MFB," says Monica. "It has been a beautiful season of personal, professional, and spiritual growth."
Upon retirement, Monica intends to spend more time with her family and be more involved at her church. She also plans to play more pickleball and start her indoor garden.
Welcome to MFB, Audrey! Happy trails and best wishes in your retirement, Monica!
