After Scot Buss finished college in Minnesota, he got in his car and drove to Florida, even though he had never been there before. Now, 25 years later, he is still enjoying the sunshine and is using his sales background to assist Midwest Food Bank Florida. Scot has joined the Florida staff as the Marketing and Development Manager.
"I'm excited about my role at MFB Florida," says Scot. "I want to be a cog in the machine that can end food insecurities in southwest Florida."
"We are thankful to have Scot on our team at MFB Florida," says Karl Steidinger. "Scot's experience and passion for serving others will certainly be valuable as he helps us fulfill our mission."
Even though Scot has been in Florida for two-plus decades, he still follows all Minnesota sports teams. Athletics are a big part of his life as he wrestled on two national championship teams at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. His daughter Makenzie is a former D1 softball player, and his son Scottie is a student at the University of Central Florida.
Scot also coaches an under-12 football team, the South Naples Trojans. He also has experience as a non-profit board member and regularly volunteers with organizations that serve underprivileged youth.
