Three new board members with diverse experience have joined the MFB New England board. They are Sue Collins, Peter DeMallie, and Susan Karp.
With over 45 years of experience in the financial services industry, Sue Collins retired from her position as Chief Actuary at TIAA. She is a past president of the Hartford Stage Company and has served on its board since 2007. Sue recently completed a one-year role as Development Manager for Central Connecticut State University, assisting the university president in fundraising, community/alumni relations, and participating on their diversity and inclusion subcommittee. Sue lives in West Hartford, CT.
Peter R. DeMallie is an urban planner. His professional career includes 10 years in government and 35 years as President of Design Professionals, Inc., a multi-disciplinary consulting practice. Peter has a long history of involvement with area business and non-profit organizations, and in 2015 was recognized as the Governor's Tourism Volunteer of the Year. He and his wife Anne have two children and five grandchildren and reside in South Windsor, CT.
Serving as the Chairman of the Glastonbury Town Council and then the Chairman of the Board of Education, Susan Karp has dedicated 18 years to municipal government. Her community involvement has included projects with the Chamber of Commerce, Education Foundation, PTSO, Commission on Aging, local advocacy groups, and collaborative efforts with many municipal leaders. Currently, Susan is assisting with an innovative STEAM lab at Glastonbury High School and serving on the Board of the Glastonbury Greater Together Community Fund. Susan and her husband, Allen, live in Glastonbury, CT.
