"My passions are education and helping children," says Lakeisha Faggett, eCommerce Marketing Consultant at Caterpillar, Peoria, IL. Serving with the Junior League of Peoria, she leads a program teaching children from disadvantaged communities how to cook. Lakeisha is also the Chair of Caterpillar's African American Network (CAAN). Through CAAN, she organizes leadership development and cultural program that foster diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Jimmy Faggett, of Mediacom Communication Corp., is the Vice President of the Peoria Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, board member of the Tri-County Peoria Urban League, and President of the National Pan-Helenic Council of Peoria. His work impacts voter registration and provides mentorship and scholarships for high school students.
The Faggetts clearly care about their community. This makes Midwest Food Bank Peoria a natural fit for them.
"I have personally seen how those in need appreciate receiving food," says Jimmy. "The church I grew up in hosts a Saturday program to feed breakfast those in need and I have volunteered many times. This experience heightened my awareness to always give back to the community."
Jimmy and LaKeshia appreciate that Midwest Food Bank is not only helping the food insecure in Peoria, but across the nation and around the world. Their support of MFB touches many communities.
In their free time, Jimmy and LaKeisha enjoy playing with Deuce, their Australian Labradoodle, and encouraging each other through boot camp workouts. They also like to travel to new cities and sample local cuisine.
Faithful, planned support is a great blessing to MFB. On behalf of those we serve, "Thank you, Jimmy and LaKeisha!"
