With a wide variety of talents and interests, there are multiple tasks MFB volunteers can do. Experience in building maintenance, clerical work, teaching, and greeting people are just a few of the many talents MFB volunteers use. What about someone who enjoys word and logic puzzles? Yes, there's even a place for her.
Teresa Goodyear, or "T", began volunteering at MFB Morton in 2017 through her church, Blessed Sacrament. Starting at the front desk, she moved to auditing inventory and managing spreadsheets. T helps ensure our inventory is accurate, performing internal audits. She also helps keep our database accurate and clean.
"T volunteers each week and is a tremendous gift to MFB," says Lisa Martin, Executive Director of MFB Morton. "She brings a wealth of experience and is an incredible asset."
T's work experience includes Illinois Bell, Continental Cable Vision, Binkley's, and Iona Group. She has been married to her husband Greg for 48 years and has one son and one daughter. In her spare time, T enjoys knitting and crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Oh, and putting puzzles together.
"I enjoy the people I volunteer with and the variety of work," says T. "And I like the challenge of inventory audits and database work."
More than 99¢ of every dollar donated to MFB goes to feeding programs and services. This is only possible through the dedicated work of volunteers like T.
